About the Fund
The Detroit Firemen's Fund Association was founded in 1866 for the purpose of providing aid to the widows of fallen fire fighters.
As members of the Fund, we are there to provide assistance and support to families during their time of need. It is during these difficult times, that we are there to help.
Our membership is comprised of both active and retired fire fighters, and is supported by membership dues, fund raisers, and other monetary donations by concerned patrons in our community.
We also volunteer our time with community activities. Our special Clown Team and Thrill Team provide entertainment for the community and have put a smile on children's faces when they are ill or recovering from serious injuries or burns.
Fire Fighters are a special breed, they don't preach the life of brotherhood they live it.
Sincerely,
The Board of Trustees

Contact us: 250 W. Larned St., Ste. 202, Detroit, MI 48226 or call us at 313-961-2988, or toll-free at 877-961-2988.
We have the 2010 calendars in the office now. The raffle calendars are $25. There are 365 prizes of $25, 52 prizes of $100, 12 prizes of $300 and next December there will be a grand prize winner of $10,000. Retirees: Look for yours in the mail soon!
Retired members were paying .75% of 3/4 of 1% which was $33.29 a month. Now they will be paying 1% of a full paid firefighter's salary, that would bring them to $44.36 a month.
The 50-year members were not paying any dues, now they will have to pay .25% or 1/4 of a full paid firefighter, that would bring them to $11.09 a month. The code on this deduction is #40350.
Our actuarial valuation tells us that these increases in dues across the board will bring us to 98% fully funded in the near future. The Board will review this action on a continuing basis, with the intent that the increases will eventually be reversed.
